Just a brief introduction about myself and what this website is all about. Am sure that most of us has been there before. We set ourselves a goal and in this case its to get fit but we fail miserably despite our best efforts. I know I’ve been there, I can imagine many of you would be agreeing to this as well.

Hi, my name is Ben, I’ve started weight training ever since I was 13 years old. Mainly because I was swimming competitively at the time and needed the extra muscles to do the “butterfly”. After which I became interested in weight training especially after picking up my first copy of Men’s Health magazine. I’ve never actually seen anyone with such a define 6 pack.

I have to admit, that magazine taught me many things about working out getting me real close to the goal too. At my peak my body fat was as low as 12%, however even then the 6 pack wouldn’t show. This was back in college days where there was heaps of spare time to train. I would put in about 1-1.5 hours of workout everyday except weekends, with about half an hour of running in the morning and about an hour of weight training. 

Point I’m trying to make is that despite my best efforts, I couldn’t reach my goal because I didn’t know exactly what I was supposed to do. I was doing something wrong somewhere. With all the time I’ve spent in the gym, I see that many people are like this as well. They get to the gym and just do whatever workout they feel like doing. When asked what are their goals they just say to work up a sweat when clearly they were also there to lose fat.

I see people go in religiously for a whole year without any visible improvements. You know who I’m talking about, in fact, you’re probably one of them. Firstly if you are, congratulations, at least you have the motivation to bring yourself to the gym that often. If you aren’t and have hit a plateau where there are no longer improvements then you’d also want to read on.

What if there was a manual on how to workout properly, telling you exactly what you have to do to get into the best physical condition that you want. Wouldn’t you just go for that? If not, why not? We already spend heaps of time trying to get there and money on gym memberships, gym equipments as well as supplements. If we’re putting effort, we may as well put effort where it counts.

As the website name would suggest, this is a website about reviews of fitness books. There are many ways to skin a cat and the same can be said about getting towards your goal. As a fitness enthusiast, I would personally review these books and give you a brief summary on it. From there you would know which training manual would be the best suited for you. 

I’ve set myself a new years resolution as always and this year its to get all my 6 packs to show by July this year. I’d be posting up pictures of myself as I get myself there. Hope you will be able to accompany me on this journey to a better, fitter you.
